Information – January and February Meetings

Monday 13th January 164 Joint with Birkenhead Circle

An excellent turnout is booked for Monday 13th at the Liverpool Cricket Club. 43 Brothers and guests are scheduled to dine with an additional Visiting Brother attending the meeting only.

As a reminder, the Liverpool Cricket Club has a free carpark and our meeting led by Bro. Jim Reid starts at 7.30 p.m. As Jim frequently reminds us, the spirit of our Association is shown by our friendship as we socialise at dinner.

Bro. Charles will have a seating plan to help further.

We plan to eat at 8.00 p.m.

Youth Support

164 continues supporting Catholic Youth and we are pleased to welcome Arran Kearney, Assistant Chaplain to the Catholic Chaplaincy for the Liverpool Universities to ‘collect’ £250 towards their student pilgrimage.   We look forward to hearing in due course about its success. Our support for the Chaplaincy continues and it is good to strengthen our links with each other.

We welcome Patrick Hart whose Youth Initiatives we support too. Indeed, Bro. Tim O’Keeffe joined the Redemptorist Youth Football and Pilgrimage last year.

And as you know we support and promote the work of Fr Taras at Liverpool Hope University.

Welcome also

Fr Joe Kendall, home briefly from Vallodolid where he is Vice-Rector. Thank you, Bro. Dave, for inviting.

And Martin Lovgreen, a frequent attendee. Thank you, Bro. Andrew.

Clergy Night Monday February 10th 2025

We look forward to a great turnout next month at our Clergy Night. Brothers are sked to sponsor memeber of the Clergy if they are not personally inviting one as their guest.

BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS AND MEAL PRICE FROM AND INCLUDING FEBRUARY 2025

Our meal price will increase slightly to £26 from and including February. Our bank details are the same. Please remember and remind fellow Brothers about the same. Our Secretary Bro. Bob will include in our Circular.

As you know, we ask for dietary at the time of booking. The Sunday a week prior to our meeting is the final deadline. Numbers and dietary are given to our Caterer the next day.

From and including February, that Sunday will be a hard deadline and any bookings after numbers are given to our caterer, are at her discretion.  We don’t want to turn down a late booking and to assist everyone, please keep the hard deadline in mind.

If you know that you can make a meeting, there is no need to wait until the deadline, book in. The deadline is the last time to book. Bookings can be made before then. It really helps with planning. Thanks.

VISITING

Supporting Provincial Council to reboot Visiting, we have it as a fixed item on our Circular.

We will have a Lead or Leads each month and thank you Bro. Dan for acting as Lead to N.E Wales this month. If Brothers from 164 would like to lead a visit just let Council know the month prior, in time for our monthly Council meeting on the Monday of the third week.

Visiting will be a fixed item on the Council Agenda and Bro. Bob will include details in our monthly Circular.

SNUFF BOX

Thank you to Bob and Bob Wheelhouse for confirming that the Snuff Box is with Liverpool Circle… but maybe not for long!

The Snuff Box for anyone unsure, is a Visiting Trophy. The Circle holding it promotes in their Circular and a minimum of four Visiting Brothers are required to claim it.
