Our after dinner speaker was Ingrid Spiegl, the wife of Fritz Spiegl. Ingrid talked about Fritz, a Jewish refugee from Austria in 1939, who was a well known Liverpool resident, musician, journalist, broadcaster, humorist and composer. The talk was fascinating and reminded all of a significant contributor to the Liverpool scene and the local culture.
The evening continued with Bingo, which had its heyday in the Sixties. It gave much amusement to all with numerous prizes going to many.
Music from the Andy Finch Disco during the meal and afterwards for dancing again reminded us all of a different era.
The entire evening was a notable success. Our President gave considerable time and effort in planing and organising the evening. A sincere thank you from all to Brother President Phil Gray.
