Jack Hughes, Celebrated 100th Birthday on 27th August
Jack Hughes celebrated his 100th Birthday on 27th August.
Jack Hughes had been a Brother in South Liverpool Circle for many years until ill health forced him to resign from the Circle 3 years ago. Brothers from the Circle kept in touch with Jack who enjoyed this continuing association with the Circle.
Due to ill-health over the last 18 months, Jack spent an increasing amount of time in local hospitals becoming an in-patient 6 months ago. He is now an in-patient at Breoadgreen Hospital.
Thanks to the kind assistance of the staff in Ward 7A and the efforts of Carol and Chris O’Shaughnessy and Geraldine McAndrew, Jack was able to celebrate his 100th Birthday with his friends from the Circle and from St Mary’s Parish, Woolton.
Fr Tim Buckley, PP, gave a short address at 11am Mass at St Mary’s celebrating Jacks Birthday. He had been a member of the Parish for nearly 70 years.
The Catenians and the Parish congratulates Jack for acheiving his Centenary and wishes him a return to better health.
